Preprint on multiscale modeling of gut microbiota

Preprint on multiscale model of the gut microbiota poster to bioRxiv.

We have submitted a manuscript "Emergence of microbial diversity due to cross-feeding interactions in a spatial model of gut microbial metabolism" on our model of the gut microbiota, and posted a preprint of the paper on bioRxiv. A fun fact is that on the October 3rd 2015 IgNobel Night in Leiden, The Netherlands, Roeland Merks won the 24/7 battle with his 24 second / 7 word summary lecture on the topic of this preprint. The 7 word summary was (translated to English): "Constipation socializes gut microbiota, diarrhea gives anarchy".
