New PhD student Esmée Vendel in mathematical pharmacology

On February 2015 Esmée Vendel, M.Sc. started working in our group. Esmée's position is at the Mathematical Institute (MI) of Leiden University, and she will spend part of her time at the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica and at the Leiden Academic Center for Drug Research. Esmée is a pharmacologist by training, where she has gained experience with mathematical modeling. She will work on tumor invasion using the cellular Potts model, and spatial models of drug/receptor interaction. Her supervisors are Vivi Rottschäfer (MI/Leiden), Joost Beltman (LACDR/Leiden), and Roeland Merks (MI/Leiden and CWI/Amsterdam).
